all i can think of for 1 is ...prime minister ..but cant work the prime with grit
oh sorry that's 5 8
1. Steel erector- steel(grit) + e(East) + rector(vicar) ?
well done .i've been looking at this for ages x
3 - lifeguard? Would only work if there used to be such a role at sea (rather than on the beach as we know them now)
seen on the beach could be tans, sand, pebbles, shells

once at sea- could be CONE if at sea indicates an anagram. Or tars/salts as old names for sailors
like you FF i keep thinking lifeguard x
For the others though there is no definition in the clue so I doubt it's that.
deck chair comes to mind too but that's not a job
Thanks danny. It is the best so far, but if it's right it's a different clue style to the other two which makes me wonder whether it's something else
I'll check back this evening
3 fisherman ?
