I was waiting in for a delivery today, which never turned up,i went to the website and tracked the parcel and it says,'taken back to depot, consignee cannot be reached'.It also states that if no-one is in when they call they will leave a card, advising what to do next, seeing as there is no card and i was in all day, would i be right in assuming that they returned it cos they couldnt be bothered?I ask cos my ex worked for a delivery company and that was their normal tricks,I need it,could i pick it up in person,i assume thats not against policy or nowt is it??Thanx

Seems like they just didn't feel like making that particular stop.

What i wondered!
This happened to me the other day, is there no customer services number to call ?? I arranged delivery for another day.

There is a number but i'm out all day tomorrow with family so wanted it here today, failing that will have to get it delivered before 9 in the morning!
I would phone the company you bought the item/s from and find out the delivery company and their contact details and of course any references.

Then phone up the number they give you or look up the company name on yell.com or in your yellow pages to find the number. The more local the better as all these companies have local depots who are more likely be able to help you find your order as they will be in charge of delivering it.

If you are friendly and say you were in all day and you have no card they may redeliver it straight away or allow you to pick it up from their local depot.
Ahh sorry I see you already have a number, well I do not understand why they will not deliver it the following day - thats standard. Esp. as they left no card thats a good sign they could not be arsed delivering it and so they owe you one!
I would check that the company you bought from has given them your correct details. i work in the parcel business and you would be surprised how much duff info they put on the deliverys, hope you have it by now.

Thanx guys, weird thing is,hubby rang them this morning, they said we would have to wait till TOMORROW,asked them what time they were here yesterday, they said 6;20 but they couldnt get past the security system,,em,there is no security system,so hubby asked them what colour the door is to which they replied err, dont take no notice of things like that,we said as far as we were concerned no-one came yesterday cos they couldnt be bothered to make that last delivery, the final result was i went to the shop about half hour later by the time i got back parcel was here, delivered by a rude and miserable old man none the less,What about that for 'fast-tracking'?After all this really feel like putting a complaint in now,oh well, thanx for your help!!
Also a possibility they did try the delivery, but went to the wrong address without realising - it happens to me all the time, wrong deliveries, cabs etc.
Its possible postdog but i get the feeling it wasnt that!
