Yes, I thought Boris had misunderstood the question but he eventually addressed it from both sides, recognising that some in Cornwall rely on the tourism industry and some see safety as the priority. He could have been blunt and added 'but you can always move from Cornwall (when it's safe to do so) if you can't stand tourists)'
I wouldn't worry didly, unless BoJo can pull a rabbit out the hat by the end of the year he, and the rest of the Tories, will be toast for many years. If the Tories tank the economy what else is left for people to vote for with them? It doesnt matter whether they are right or wrong on this, that is what will happen.

I don't believe that for a moment. Most people aren't that stupid. They know what's happening and they know that the effect on the economy is unavoidable.

I am not aware of any political party in the UK that is not in broad agreement with the lockdown, and the overwhelming majority of the public support the lockdown, so which party will people turn to YMB? I have a feeling though that the Greens may do well- a lot of people I know have rediscovered the love of fresh clean air, countryside, less traffic, working from home, the move away from material pursuits ( a flash car doesn't seem as important to me now)

I know support is probably slipping here but only slightly, and support is falling noticeably in France (particularly in ethnic suburbs?) and in US where Trump is playing a dangerous game with mixed messages, but it's still overwhelming support in my opinion. Certainly not 52:48 as per Brexit.
If you have alternative surveys though I'd be happy to see them and discuss or accept things may be changing faster than I thought

I don't believe things will ever be the same again.
I said weeks ago that the virus is only the first domino to fall.
There will be many more.
I have a real fear of what the next dominos will be.
This is a crisis to which there is no answer.
A vaccine will not restore us to life as was.

And no I dont have anything to support what I am saying, nothing I would consider reliable anyway - like dodgy youGov polls.
It doesnt matter anyway. In four years time many will simply look to how they have fared. If they are broke, homeless or simply see the tax payer funded lot are living high on the hog they will vote with their feet. Add to that the inevitable witch hunts (using hindsight) and I think you will see a backlash, even more so if our freedoms are still curtailed.
Add to that there is a good chance there will be no vaccine. If there isn't then that will spell big trouble for the Tories, and other Governments around the World.
