Taken from my FB page: A message to all our Negative UK Press - including Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC, Robert Peston of ITV, Beth Rigby of Sky, Piers Morgan of ITV, BBC News in general and all the other negative UK press. Journalism is missing the "mood" in this great country of ours - the United Kingdom. We do not want or need blame. We do not want constant criticism...

gawd only a few from the public back to Laura Clueless and co!
Yep. Journalists can't help themselves. The public just wants the relevant information.
Yes, watching.
I don't see why Kuenssberg's question wasn't relevant too: "What level of R0 are you looking for in hoping to ease the restrictions?"
Question Author
the difference is that the public were asking sincere questions actually seeking answers. klueless and Pest et al ask things that they hope they can use to trip up the PM now or later.

oh come on jim, she's trying to get a stick the beat him with later.
The motivation may be iffy but the question is still valid.
Yes, very good question about mental health from a member of public.

A caller on This Morning yesterday was so distraught and in tears saying how lonely she felt. Her husband passed away recently and she was in total isolation and couldn't see her grandchildren. They spoke to her further afterwards. Thousands will be in the same predicament and need emotional support and not just those with diagnosed mental health issues.
There are serious and growing issues about why society cannot sustain this lockdown much longer.

The government has the difficult balancing act of maintaining the growth in infections and deaths, against the short and long-term damages being inflicted on society as a result of their successful lockdown.

I predict that the government will be looking at significant easing strategies within safe boundaries, to take some of the heat off the most serious impacts which are affecting everyone so badly.
I like the stuff from the small provincial papers and web stuff too. Maybe this kind of remote conferencing will finally break the "big boys and London" stranglehold on such things.
Could we be furnished with a list of journalists deemed suitable for questioning our lords and masters?

It would save those of us without a towering intellect and deep insight from wasting our time listening or reading the stuff put out by these serial losers.

Let's organise a petition to get Tora on the fourth plinth.

"Could we be furnished with a list of journalists deemed suitable for questioning our lords and masters? " - no they don't exist, they cannot divorce their desire to trip up a politician from the actual enquiry. Journalism has reached a stage where they have forgotten their purpose and focus only on themselves. Let the public do it they do a better job.
Laura Kuenesberg & Beth Rigby drive mad with their pointless questions.
A withering critique right enough. End of. X

Journalism is missing the "mood" in this great country of ours - the United Kingdom. We do not want or need blame. We do not want constant criticism of our Government who are doing their very best in a very difficult and unprecedented global emergency.
We want and need a constructive contribution to the national effort to help us out of this crisis. We need hope, optimism and faith, with less negativity and more positive support from these journalists. It is time you all changed your negative and political rhetoric for the health of this nation and start supporting our Government.
I'm confused.

Politicians have gone from corrupt, nest feathering empire builders to all-knowing paragons almost overnight despite their very public ineptitude.
Is it something in the water?

bang on Sharon! BA
What is brilliant about the current briefing format though is that the journalists actually have to listen to the answer without interrupting halfway through it to ask another question.

I can only assume that's achieved by muting the sound from the journalist's mic.
What about Boris's major gaffe when answering the first question from the public? The lady from Cornwall was concerned about visitors to the area bringing Covid to Cornwall whereas Boris answered as if she was worried about the tourist industry going down the pan. Schoolboy error if ever there was one - answer the question asked, not the one you would have preferred to be asked. Typical.

"The lady from Cornwall was concerned about visitors to the area bringing Covid to Cornwall whereas Boris answered as if she was worried about the tourist industry going down the pan." - you really can't see it can you? even though you wrote that sentence you really cannot see it!
