French starter = F + LAKE = anagram of KALE

Good one captain. I couldn't find a GUDE or similar so knew fudge didn't work

French Starter = F. With mixed veg = dveg = vdge. Changed V to U to make it FUDGE = 5 letters. This is probably completely wrong, which is why I wanted to check it.
