Muse - Starlight bass effect.

Hi there, can anyone tell me what effect the bassist in muse is using at the start of the song Starlight, there new single, where it's just bass and singing. Its pretty damn cool and I've decided I need that pedal! I suppose it's probably a boss pedal, but can anyone tell me which?

its just a light distortion effect.if you get any distortion pedal and put it to a light setting on it you should get a sound similar

Yeah, it is just basic distortion as far as I can tell, but if you want it EXACTLY the way Matt & Co. have it, it'll cost you a pretty penny! For a while now, they've had their own guitar tech who actually build the effects INTO the guitar/bass, so when you see Muse live, you never see the usual array of pedals or techno geek stuff you do at other gigs. Only problem is, they have to keep swopping intruments!
