I've just caught this movie . OK - it had Keira dressed up as a pirate ( sigh! ) . However the Editor seemed to be asleep at the wheel - there were several parts that would have benefitted from scissors .

Does anyone agree that
* It was a bit slow in places?
*Orlando was mahogany in more ways than one?
*The Kraken was over-used?

I loved the barminess of the 1st film, and saw the 2nd in the cinema a couple of weeks ago. There were certain points where I had to look away from the screen, as there was simply too much going on. The scenes with the Kraken were the worst - there was too much happening to be able to take it all in at once. Certain scenes went on for far too long (the Orlando - Depp sword fight scene, anyone?) which I probably would have ff'ed if I'd been at home. Sitting in the cinema for 2.5 hours to be left with a cliff-hanging was a pain in the backside - literally!

And yes, Orlando is awful. Maybe he and Keanu Reeves went to the same acting coach....

I agree with you on that there was just too much in certain scenes . I was about four rows Back and it was just a whirl of motion to me - like watching one of those hand held cameras during a violent altercation.
exactly. it all got a bit confusing if you went out of the movie for a few mins
