As I type, another 838 deaths in Spain overnight has just been announced.
Yes, I’m a tad miffed. I’m in work for 12.30 until 9 pm, overtime to cover colleagues who are self isolating.
I was on holiday last week.....I worked 3 days of that due to staff shortages.
Hopefully our ITU isn’t yet full and we’ll not be dealing with the overspill into Theatre.....yet.
Angry? No.....just aghast and perplexed at the stupidity of people who don’t seem to take in what is happening all around them, locally and globally.
Some need to wake up and smell what they’re shovelling.

No. You need 3 weeks - a month of lockdown to actually see the affect.

Think about the incubation period if the virus and how many people you could pass it into during that period.

Of course the number of deaths has rocketed, since it takes between 5 and 14 days for the disease to incubate and then further time before a patient dies.

It will keep on rocketing for quite a while too. The medical director of NHS England has stated that "we will have done very well" if the total number of deaths can be kept below 20,000.

It's well-nigh impossible to differentiate between those who die 'with' Covid-19 (who would have died anyway from other causes), and those who die 'of' Covid-19. The figures will never be really accurate.
