The maximum size of a football pitch is 130 yds x 100 yds, or 13,000 square yds.

The minimum size is 100 yds x 50 yds, or 5,000 square yds.

An acre is 4,840 square yds.
Just for interest, the new Arsenal pitch is 113m by 76m. This equates to 8,588 square metres. An acre is also 4,047 square metres - so the Arsenal pitch is just over 2 acres.
Plus one bellyacre in the dugout (sorry).
