I saw a really lovely dress for my nieces wedding, its in emerald green.

My sister says green is not right for a wedding,

Is there a protocol for wedding attire regarding colours? We are going all day.

Any thoughts very welcome.

I was married in a green suit back in 1965.
If you are superstitious wearing green at a wedding is bad luck.
That's what my mum said Quercus39 but I was married for 32 years.
There you are see. Bad luck.
LOL OG. x
just been watching We Dive at Dawn. The bride wears a dress that someone says is green (the film was black and white) and people suck in their teeth. The groom is suddenly recalled to his ship, to his great relief, but it's bad luck for the bride.

Even if it's ominous for the bride, though. this doesn't apply to guests.

Thanks, some interesting thoughts,
Bobbi - I've never looked stunning in anything! But thanks for your kind words.
You will on the day Darcy
If the dress makes you feel good you'll look fabulous - go for it.
There was a girl in my hairdresser's yesterday on her way to her brother's wedding and she looked stunning in a green dress and matching headpiece. If you suit it wear it!
I am pretty superstitious about things but my favourite colour is green and I would wear it at a wedding.
