Unlocking Asus Laptop

I want to pass on my Asus laptop with Windows 10 to a friend so reset it to Factory settings.
Now when setting it up for her the initial screen asks for password which is forgotten and gives
me a reset option. When tried, I get a box telling me to use USB flashdrive and try again.....
Was once advised to ask my 14 year old neighbour for computer assistance but I haven't got
one of those either! Getting on for 90, I am far from computer literate but can follow basic
advice to correct things that go wrong. If there is a simple solution, please let me know or
do I need a visit from a consultant??
