Transferring i pod library

Does anyone know if it is possible - and if it is, how -to transfer my i pod library onto my laptop ?

it is possible. connect your ipod to your laptop. it should show up as a device in My Computer. Right click and select Explore on your ipod hard-drive. On mine, all the tracks are displayed in no particular, grouped in about 15 separate folders (F1-F15, or something like that...). You can change the number of folders to just 1, but i cant remember how off the top of my head

If you don't want to mess with the hidden folders and things, you can use yamipod:

Also, it will not let you change the default as neither of them are highlighted.
