...and so did most of the tv critics, reviewers! The Christmas one wasn't favourably received.
Yes, I've just said elsewhere I found it a well done episode - some poignant moments.
Never used to watch this, but have given it a go and really like it. Quite moving.
Although the stories are a little contrived now since the memoirs of Jennifer Worth have been exhausted but it’s still an enjoyable watch on a Sunday night.I must admit some of the characters are less believable than others but I can really believe in Stephen McGann as a 1960’s G.P..
Watched the one on Sunday - thought it was beginning to lose its lustre - Dosnt seem to have the same naturalness about it now. The midwifes used to get really involved at the actual birth, but now they seem to sit at the end of the bed and issue platitudes, getting up only to catch baby when it appears. Might not bother with the rest of the series. Sorry!
