Just watched this excellent programme presented by Stephen Mcgann (Dr. Turner in the series.) It touched on many subjects including interviewing a lady whose Mother had been given thalidomide. Also there was a piece on lady who had the first birth certificate on the NHS being born a minute after midnight on the morning of July 5th 1948.The doctors asked her mother to name Aneira the female version of Aneurin as a human monument to the founder of the NHS.

I tried to watch some of this but had my grandson round and he is two. I love Call the midwife. My Mum had morning sickness quite bad when she was expecting me 1967 She never had the drug to help though which is good, my heart goes out to them all that were affected. And what a lovely name Aneira is too.
