That I always thought you were allowed £16,000 savings before your home was sold for care purposes but now I read it is nearly £23,000 - can anybody confirm which is correct. Thanks

That's not a lot is it - soon will be eaten up by care costs which are expensive

Still , isn't one of the new governments policies to abolish it ?

my friend is in a care home and she (the government) is paying nearly £1,000 a week for her. She doesn't have any home to sell or savings.

You also have to use £9000 to make some contributions to Social Services when they start to pay Once you are down to £14250 they are not allowed to take anymore.
