I Have Always Slept Well But

Now all of a sudden over the last month or so I can't get off until the early hours. I used to sleep about 8 hours or so but now it's about half of that. I like to walk every day. I don't think I have changed the way I live at all. Anyone have any idea why things have changed ? So annoying.

No not that as I say I have always slept like a log and then had a siesta through the day too.
Could be just bed dread. I'm sure quite a few late night ABers have it.
Try and knock the siesta's out and see what happens then, tamaris.

I have done already to no avail. I need to visit the doctor for an explanation methinks.
Could be a change in life, tamaris. We change as we get older.
Unlikely the doctor will do anything.
A doctor won't be able to help. Your body clock has changed. It might be worth trying melatonin until you sleep pattern settles down again.
as 237 says your body clock has changed. if you have no worries, is it your age? as i find like now i am awake at this silly o'clock.. but i don't fret half as much as i used to. The doctor will likely send you packing with either sleeping pills, which you don't want or need or with the advise that i could be your age...
don't sleep in the daytime if you can help it.
Nothing worse Tamaris, I’m an 8 hour + person but now and again I’m a member of the wide awake club, it must be awful for you to be doing it permanently now, as Emmie and 237SJ have advised, try to cut out the ‘siesta’ as we get older ,we use less energy so sleeping in the afternoon would have a knock on effect to your nights sleep pattern, hope you get it sorted yourself
Try having a vigorous swim. I always sleep well after that.
Have you tried having a mug of hot chocolate before you go to bed? It works for me!

Doctor prescribed melatonin I'll give them a try. Apparantly she thinks some tablets I stopped taking a month ago has caused the sleeplessness.
I used to get melatonin in the US, where you can get it non prescription.
It is a natural hormone, rather than a drug.
It is amazingly effective, and even a half tablet will probably sink you into a deep refreshing sleep.
