When I was in New York in the summer I did a walking tour of Harlem which pretty much starts at 110th street. I didn't realise the significance when I first heard this song. I loved Harlem.

I remember going the cinema in the late 70's to see that film ' Across 110th Street' 237SJ was a good film imo ( great theme music to ).

Tony - I haven't seen the film. Harlem always had a bad press (and still does in some ways) but I love it there. The people are fiercely proud of the place and it much less materialistic than other parts of NY.

I will. Aren't the mafia in the Bronx? You can do walking tours there as well. Not as interesting as Harlem though
