you will loose your bt e mail . you will be restricted to what u can up load .
Generally, if you have been with them for the 12 month minimum contract period, you should be able to keep the modem. If not, they may charge you for it, along with the balance due for the remainder of the contract from the date of cancellation up to the 12 month date. To keep your BT Openworld email accounts, you will need to sign up for a Basic Mail (free, but webmail, not pop3) or Premium Mail account (1.50 a month). Several of the big players in broadband offer a free modem when you sign up anyway. With the cheaper deals, watch out for limits set on amount of downloads permitted per month. Good luck! :)
We used to be with BT Openworld broadband but didn't think the service was up to much.Very slow. We are now with Blueyonder who are now only charging 17.99 per month for broadband. They really are good. They have just upgraded us from a 1mb broadband to 1.5 totally free, just because the prices have come down, good eh? You can still keep your BT modem and if you want to keep your bt email addresses it costs 1.50 per month.
Sorry should have said you can keep your bt modem, although you can't use it with blueyonder obviously as it's cable.
Not all cheap ISP's have restrictions. Im with GioInternet http://www.giointernet.com/products/broadband-home
.aspx
- 19.99 a month, unlimited downloads, 24x7 connection, no port resrictions, minimum 3 month contract. I cant fault them
