. . . (which requires a score of 7) but I at least managed 'room for improvement' (for scores of 4 to 6 - I got 5 this week), which is better than 'smashed' (for scores of 0 to 3). Indeed, given that nowadays I fall asleep after just a few drinks, it's a hell of a long time since I've been smashed! ;-)

I would have scored 6 if I'd not thought that one answer was so obvious that it couldn't actually be true!

I reckon it's fairly easy this week though. Will you agree?

Welcome to our special little group, known as the Fabulous Fivers, Lady J ;-)

I love the Cosy Club, Tony. In case you've not come across them, they're a (smallish) national chain of bar/restaurants, with 29 branches across the country. They're all individually (but lavishly furnished) and the food is outstanding. Their staff always seem to be exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient too. Although most of their customers are there to use the restaurant facilities, they welcome casual drinkers too. They generally only have one or two real ales on draught but they're always of excellent quality. (They've got a policy of only stocking real ales that are from breweries which are fairly local to each restaurant). Their prices aren't too bad either (when compared to, say, the price of beer in a bog standard Indian restaurant, where you can often pay at least £6 for a pint of nondescript lager). I was drinking this stuff last Sunday, at £3.90 per pint (which isn't that much more than an ordinary pub charges around here for a decent old ale):

>>> You didn't wee for 11 days?

Yup! I couldn't! (I didn't really eat or sleep for all that time either). By the time I was admitted to hospital, my kidney function was (according to the consultant) at the lowest level it was possible to be without actually having total renal failure. However after 5 nights in hospital, connected to lots of drips, they got it back to somewhere near to normal. That's why I don't feel I should complain too much about the catheter that's keeping me alive!
No Chris, I haven't come across that chain yet. Looks like an ale I'd like to try.
Those pubs look more like well preserved art galleries than pubs. Love them. Would you like a wee shandy in them tony ?
That sounds horrendous. I can only imagine the pain.

Cosy Club sounds pretty cool.

HIGHLY recommended by me, not only for the beer but for the FANTASTIC food (at very sensible prices).

Welcome to our Fabulous Fivers, Emmie!
thanks Chris
6/7 - the bloody puppets caught me out, never heard of the pig....
6 this week.
Thanks for the welcome Chris.

Seems the nearest Cosy Club to me is Exeter. A bit too far for me so I'll just have to give that a miss. Looks good though.
