02 Texts Failing

Partner and I both have Samsung Galaxy phones, using 02 payg Sims. No problems normally.

But last few weeks texts sent from one to the other have not been getting through - some do, some just disappear.

Any tips for somehow purging the phones and freeing up whatever is hanging up these texts? We've both cleared our text message buffers, but can't think of what else to do. Or is it an 02 problem?

Any help?

Sounds like a network issue to me.
But make sure you have sufficient resources on both phones too. Ensuring you have a fair amount of free memory should suffice.

Thanks old geezer. Could you expand on that a bit? Not sure how we use memory on the phones - we only use them for phoning/texting, no apps, no www access, etc, so could we still be consuming memory?

Texts do take up memory if you store them, though not a lot.
I'd contact O2.

Apps use memory. If short, remove those you don't use much. They all have apps but if you haven't added any you might not be able to delete those that are preinstalled. But if you haven't added any it's unlikely to be a resource issue anyway.

Still sounds a network one to me.

Yes, old geezer, agreed. When we test the phones in our own living room, they’re fine. But if one of us is 5 miles away, then the failing starts.
