Are same sex couples and mixed race couples over represented.

Is there some agenda, just curious.

Yes and Yes.

That's what puzzles me Pixie, the day I start to analyse the possible family connections between people in a TV advert or on a catalogue cover is I hope never to arrive.
I doubt it will, mamya... people are people. I can't imagine listing appearance and making a pie chart either x
"Because those are the available actors they have hired, aog. Why do you think it is?"

Actors are available of all ethnicities, ad agencies are very deliberate over those they select.

"Assuming all minorities are over-represented (say), does anyone actually care?"

From this thread - obviously Yes!

"And why?"

Maybe some element of racism but from my point of view I do not want to see a grossly distorted view of our society.
Why don’t you tell us your theory AOG?
If you categorise people into "colours" then it may well look distorted, I guess. Thankfully, most people have outgrown that now.
TCL @ 9:53 NO!

It was just a casual observation. Seems others have also noticed.
I'm sure they have, sparkly, lol. I am still unsure of the problem behind it, even if it were true. Are you worried that white men are missing out on work? Or that people might start thinking it is acceptable to date someone of another colour?

Baffled, of Bucks.
HEREIAM, if you have two components to a group, a minority MUST be less than half and the other group MUST be more than half.

if you think white families in adverts are an increasing minority, why are the non-white families not a majority?
TCL 13:13 don't know.
You're the one saying white families in ads are in the minority yet non-white families in ads are not the majority.

If you don't know what you're on about, how am I?

"If you categorise people into "colours" then it may well look distorted, I guess. Thankfully, most people have outgrown that now."

So if you saw ONLY mixed-race families in advertisements, you would think that was fine?
I'm not convinced that would even register with me, Dave. Let alone be worth a second thought. Why is not fine? What exactly are people worried about?
Probably because, AOG women want to believe the myth.
Who are 'AOG women'?
Your tedious repetition of "just a casual observation" together with the "shot down in flames" remark shows that it's anything but "just casual", as well you know.
