this ridiculous little man has completely suborned democracy. i am not tory in any form but his bias against his former allies is totally scandalous. the speaker of the house of commons is supposed to be completely neutral. he has hijacked the result of a legal referendum. he has acted well outside his remit. i hope he has an unpleasant retirement

The Speaker is obliged to ensure that the country is run by Parliament as a whole and NOT by any group of politicians, irrespective of whether such groups form the Government, the Opposition or any other alliances.

John Bercow has done a SUPERB job of making sure that it's Parliament that is in charge, rather than the Government (or anyone else.
