We have the average size bath in our 2 bedroom house and our bath looks quite worn and need a new one.
Would you buy new one or have your bath re-enamalled?

Would it be lots cheaper to have it done?

Not had one re-enameled but from what I have read, if it is done in situ one is less impressed. And the cost of sending it away and then taking delivery again later means it's less fuss to go buy new. But maybe someone with experience can tell us otherwise.

Thanks OG. Our bath is smaller than we thought and when we've looked at new baths they always too big.
There are only two we have seen that are our exact size, so were chewing over what is the best thing to do.
OG speaks the truth ;o)
In situ ........... possibly turn out OK, but a matter of luck if it lasts.

Taken out and treated at a specialists is expensive, and usually reserved for older, classic baths that are worth keeping.

There are usually a whole load of different sizes. What size is it Puss?

Hi Builder, sorry for late reply.

Bath lengh is 1500
Width 66.

Mr Puss is dragging me to Wickes tomorrow to look around and hope to buy something our size.
Decided not enamel our bath now. Too much hassle maybe.

Thanks for reply x
OK ......... 1500mm is one of the standard sizes. You don't need to go for pressed steel or cast iron even. Acrylic are fine. Just, preferably, go for something around 10mm thick. Cheap plastic baths are usually dire.

Have a look here..............
