hi skids.

have you checked the heater controls are set to cold ?

the fan only controls the amount of air that comes into the car through the heating/cooling system....

What I meant is: The fan only works on highest setting, and the temperature control has no effect on the temperature. Its constantly pumping out heat equal to the temperature at the centre of a thermo-nuclear explosion.
thermo nuclear explosions....

let me check my "thermo nuclear explosions" book of car heaters.........
hi skids,
there are control cables that go from the heater control sliders on the dashboard down to flaps in the heater radiator housing, below the dashboard. as funky says, the control is by varying the amount of heated air that comes into the car.
the cables may not be connected properly, there is a clip that holds the outer of the cable in a fixed position, at each end (the control end and the heater housing end) if I remember correctly.
also, if the fan only works on the highest setting (ie speed) the resistor network that drops voltage at lower speeds is probably disconnected or burnt out, i suggest.
under the bonnet by the centre of the bulk head there is a unit called a heater control valve these pack up all the time on fiestas and kas they are no tvery expensive and are quite easy to fit. will have two water hoses and a electrical connecter on it
