Hi I have just got a slow cooker. Is it true you can pre warm it without putting ingredients in first please. ? If it is true, what setting do you put it on ? and how many mins please.? Thanks.

Yes, you can (and should) pre-heat it....till it feels hot inside - maybe 10 mins on med or high.
(And I'd recommend that you get recipe/instruction/hints book from somewhere like The Works cheapo bookshops).
A bit of googling suggests that 20 minutes on the 'High' setting is generally recommended.
