I’ve looked this up and all answers are the same. Make your pudding in the pudding dish as usual, with pastry on top. Completely cover in foil. Put dish in slow cooker with a little bit of boiling water in bottom, maybe an inch or so. Cook on high for about 8 hrs . Do NOT be tempted to take lid off and peek lol. Hope this helps.

in my opinion it would be a mistake - i'm having trouble imagining just cooking the pudding bit with no filling full stop, let alone in a slow cooker

Thanks Snowball. Not sure yet how to support the top but I'll find something.
Are you trying to cook an empty suet pastry case in a slow cooker? Firstly...Why? Secondly.......what is to be gained if it's possible -all suet pies have to be cooked with a filling. Please explain as I'm really intrigued!
