Hi, my son aged 12 is going on a school trip with his year group. The idea is that they are camping, but have to provide their own tents. He wants to share a tent with two frineds, and so needs a tent which they can put up easily (the school have made it very clear that teachers won't be helping with tent pitching!!). We already have a 3 person dome tent which our kids use to sleep out in the garden, but it doens't have any room left over for stuff. They are away for a week so will each have a holdall or rucksack of stuff. I have been thinking of buying a tunnel tent, as they seem to have more storage area, but they seem to be quite heavy - the children have to carry the tents from the coach park to the campsite. Plus I don't know how easy they are to erect. If anyone can suggest a make/brand that would be great. I really don't want to pay any more than 100 max.

Lidl are currently selling tents. A 2 man tent is 9.99 and is as good as one I paid 80 for.
I forgot to say they have 3-4 man tents as well but I don't know how much these cost.
plenty at Argos and most small tents are easy to put up. You could always erect it in the garden with the kids before they go so they know how to do it.

I think these are perfect. You can get 2, 3 or sometimes 4 man tents like this.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. There are some good tents out there! The LIDL one is great for the garden, so thanks for that suggestion, but they will need something a bit bigger for the week away. I'm off to look in halfords - they have a tent sale on at the moment. Thanks for all the help, now we just need some summer weather!
If someone facing this problem nowadays I will suggest wonderfulwu tent for your child at a cheap price. If you worried about quality please check the review here.
