my kids love MSN...l don`t, how do i stop msn coming up on my desktop without clearing it from the computer??

You can disable it very easily - but your children will probably know a lot more than you about computers and will very quickly enable it again.

don`t l know that ethel ... l`m happy for them to keep using it, on their own desktop.. it just pi$$�s me off that i have to "close" it before i can use MY desktop when i log on,thanks anyway.... any other suggestions

Ok

In Start, choose run and type

msconfig


Click on 'Startup' and scroll down until you find

msnmsgr

Make sure the box is not ticked.

Click Apply, and ok.

This will stop it starting automatically .

Click Start... Run then type "msconfig" without the quotes into the box and click OK.

Click the Startup tab and locate MsnMsgr. If the location is listed as starting as HKCU, then uncheck the box and you should be done! The CU bit of HKCU stands for Current User, so if you are logged in using your account, this should disable MSN Messenger just for you and not for your kids logon accounts.
