Hello again. I found this one pretty tough and, although I have (provisional ) answers for several, I am not really sure about them. Although I have other things to tell you, I'd better get on with the clues and possible answers.
36d. Pragmatic criminal in court takes fellow in. With he letters I have "unromantic" fits and I suppose that can mean pragmatic. I also see "man" in it but the rest? dunno
47ac. Mobile phone with charm and a reluctance to innovate? again with letters I have "neophobia" fits and fits the definition. But I can't work out why.
And, finally,
43ac Subject promises to settle coastal area , being quarrelsome. I am pretty confident that the answer is "contentiousness" Again fits the definition. But I don't understand the working.

As always , I shall be very grateful for advice

Thank you all so much. As ever, you have been kind and so instructive. I blush that I didn't see the anagram for unromantic. So obvious. I didn't know Obi so feel bit less guilty about that. And again, have I learnt anything when I didn't see the parts of contentiousness?
Thank you all of you.
I've had a busy week (not bad though). Glorious evening with His Nibs last night. And today a new experience (for me). SWMBO and I made marmalade. Well , she made it and I was her humble assistant, juicing oranges and chopping the skins up. It's very labour intensive (probably cheaper to buy the stuff!)but I feel a great sense of achievement. First time for me(but not for her, of course)

Love your posts Steven - have a good week.
Glad you had a good night and your toast and marmalade will taste all the better for having had a hand in making it.

Thank you Captain2 for your very nice comment. It's because you are all so kind to me that I feel able to rabbit on about other things. And of course, thank you Mamyalynne. As ever so kind
