Hi
A friend's Mother has sadly passed away and I would like to put some words of comfort in her card. Nothing too long just something that will let her know I am sorry to hear of her loss and that I am thinking of her. I know I could just put that but wanted to write something a bit more comforting, maybe a small poem. Anyone have any links to good websites or any words of comfort themselves. Thank you very much in advance :o)

hi wingnut!! sorry for your friends loss

here is one poem, hope you like it xXx

People say theyre sorry,
And they mean it from the heart,
But to understand your heartache,
They couldnt even start,
To have a loss like you have had,
Is too much to understand,
We see it and we feel for you,
But its only secondhand,
Youre the ones who are suffering,
And were the ones who care,
But if theres anything we can do,
Call us, well be there.
Put words of comfort into google there is lots there hope this helps.

Hi wendila :o)
I put it in Google but just wondered if anyone on here had any personal suggestions as well. I wanted to put something that was different, but summed up that I was thinking of her without actually putting it if you know what I mean, lol I'm no good with words, hence why I need the help ;o)

Hope your both well on this soggy morning!
ok know what you mean and not going to moan about the soggy morning did enough moaning about the heat lol we never happy about the weather.

lol wendila, should have known it would be raining as it's market day here! I got wet yesterday playing Crazy golf so think I may just stay at home today!

Thanx again :o)
it's dry and sunny here at the mo!! xXx
if you knew her yourself, Wingnut, try writing a sentence or two about your own memories of her and what good company she was, etc; better to write of your own experience (I personally think) than quoting someone else's poetry.

Hi jno :o)

I have never met her Mother, my friend works at the same place as me although we don't actually work together. As it's the school holidays I won't see her till September, I don't know where she lives but a neighbour of mine knew her Mother and is going to the funeral and I am going to ask her if she can take the card for me.
Even tho we aren't close friends I just wanted her to know that I was thinking of her and offer some words of comfort.
fair enough, Wingnut, then your concern will be with the daughter rather than the mother. But I would still always say use your own words rather than someone else's, though that is just my personal view and I know others disagree

Hi again jno :o)

No no don't get me wrong, I do agree with you, own words would be much better, but I just felt as I didn't know her Mother I thought maybe just some words of comfort or a small poem to her to let her know I was thinking of her as it is going to be a long while till I actually see her and didn't want all that time to pass without her knowing I was thinking of her.
Thank you for your suggestion tho :o)
