I need a new vacuum cleaner and might try looking for one in the sales. Any recommendations?

Last year I read all the reviews and settled on a pull along Hoover, but it has no suction and gives me back ache. Does anyone use a cleaner that works a treat on carpet?

The constant use of max cuts your battery life and even if it’s a gift you still get a warranty

Thank you everyone for your opinions and expereinces. I am happy to go round and round in circles, thats why I asked. I can read reviews until I am equally confused, as I have done, and as I did last time, but none of them told me that the hoover I chose would give me back ache.

Based on the reviews and your comments, and my carpeted home, I think it likley that I will in fact be the owner of a Dyson V8 before the week is out.

Forget Dyson. Go for the cheapest upright you can find if you have a lot of carpet. Those horrid pull-along things are really hard work on carpet.
I cant get my head around the amount of blokes replying to this post!!
Why Ryzen? Can’t blokes use and know vacuum cleaners?

Really? Who do you think does the maintenance and general "fit for purpose" checks in our home? I also like to clean my car once in a while.

Thank you for all your help and persoanl recommendations.

I'm now the very happy owner of a Dyson V8 Absolute. Its light, easy to use, powerful and suits me fine in my carpeted bungalow. With the added bonus of being about to vacuum the car cordlessly, as its down the drive beyond the reaches of a regular extension lead. Love it!
So pleased you're happy with your purchase Maydup....as I was one of those recommending the Dyson cordless range.
You'll find that the best way of using is to charge it up right after you've finished cleaning....so it's fully charged for the next time. Or, leave it permanently in it's "docking station"....it won't overcharge because the charger stops when full charge is reached.

Thanks gjb, I have just topped up the charge as you suggest. I will have to decide where to site the docking station and fix it up at the weekend, and find something to keep the accessories in.
