I was made redundent end of march this year and now the position is showing as available in the local newspaper. Can they do this as it has been less than six months. I begged for my job and I was the only one let go as there was a shortage of work and I was last in and the youngest.

I believe the time limit is six months within which an employer cannot re-establish the same job. Is it the same job? Were you actually made redundant (in that you had at least one years service and were given a redundancy payment under the redundancy legislation)?

No the same thing happend to me ,it was about three months when someone else was in my job,I got 3.750 off them in an out of court settlement. Good look
Jimmy I wrote an answer that disappeared so I don't want to do it all again. Basically, if I were you, I would try to look forward rather than back, whether you sue the company or not. Try to put it behind you and DONT slag them off in future applications or interviews, no matter how tempting, as that's the kiss of death. Wait till you've got another job then you can slag them off all you want! Good luck!
