Point taken razza. To be honest, my ancient version of Chambers has cus-cus (with a hyphen for the animal) but cuscus (one word) for the millet grain and the Indian grass! So I was bending the rules just a little.

As for the "Aye Aye" - to swear allegiance (kayakamina ) - I hadn't thought of that explanation. I do note that my same Chambers has aye-aye (again hyphenated) for the lemur!
