I've just had a warning icon on my pc saying I may be a victim of software counterfeiting. I got the pc from ebay ages ago, and seller is no longer registered. Any ideas on my next step ? Is it safe to continue using what I have ?

You should notify Microsoft of the seller. That way you get a free copy of their software
Same happened to my pc, was told by microsoft that they will sell me an authentic license nember etc but was about the same price as buying a copy of win xp from shop.

tellyboy, where in that article does it say they will give you a free copy? I couldnt find it.
Sorry tellboy, misunderstood what you were saying.
