Hi missjef,

Most (not all) cookies and biscuit recipes are with plain flour, so they do not rise/grow too big!! lol

Seriously, I have made and make lots of cookies, sometimes I've used SR flour, although the recipe states plain. Have just looked in my Freezer recipe book and it has plain for Peanut Butter cookies (but no egg - which can act as a raising agent). Have not made these - it is the one food I cannot eat!!
haven't made them for a while but i think it is plain flour xXx
Think the general rule is if it doesn't state a type i.e. self rasing etc.. it will be plain!
