i'd read that your hair thickens whilst your pregnant then goes back to normal after you've had your baby. my baby is now 4months old and i've started to lose huge amounts of hair everyday.does anyone know when this slow down again or stop. getting bit worrying now.

I wouldnt worry too much this happened to me for ages. obviously if you start to get patches then speak to your doctor. It's you hormones balancing out and this can take anything from 6 months to a year to get back to normal.
Was exactly the same for me Jenarry, I had gorgeous (well in my opinion anyway!) thick hair and lovely long nails throughout my pregnancy, and it seemed as soon as I had my baby my hair went to straw and was coming away in handfuls and all my nails broke off. :-(

Your body is still settling down after your recent pregnancy- things will right themselves eventually. However as spanner has said if you start to get bald patches then have a quick word with your GP.

If you want further reassurance why dont you have a quick word with your health visitor?

thankyou both for reassuring ansas.hopefully will settle down soon.jen x
That lovely thick hai has to come out at some point. My son is 12 months old and ive only just noticed that Im not losing so much hair in the last month or so.
yes this happened to my sister. hair is making up for all you did not lose whilst pregnant. It will settle down I am certain. As one of the others said - if you start getting bald patches would be worth getting it checked out but dont think that would be the case.
i had the same problem to then when my son was 10 months old i had a really good hair cut then i noticed it stopped falling out my nails also started growing back to (nothing to do with my hair cut though)
