Who decided on the misuse of phobia in Islamophobia?

Why not anti-Islamism, like anti-Semitism?

Quite. I'm not Islamophobic, but I am anti-Islam.
That word/suffix been misused in many places for ages now. Some have to be trying to change it's definition.
The word is usually used without thinking- or is chosen deliberately to mislead

Ah work; I remember that.
Well it indicates an irrational fear so for some it would be appropriate. I am not anti Islam per se, just anti fundamentalists and zealots whatever team they support
At least we can identify Heinrich von Treitschke as the misuser of 'anti-Semitism', coined by Moritz Steinschneider to encompass all Semitic peoples (Arabs, Assyrians, Druze, Eritreans, Maltese. etc., etc.) and not only Jews.
