Deskdiary, //Gromit should also have commented on how much did the Government spent on their remain flyer that was sent to every house in the country. //

Indeed. That'll be £9 million.

so 2 years after the vote they claim it wasn't fair? right oh! Let's see a pure binary choice was given to the electorate, how could that possibly be unfair? oh I know the "wrong" side won! PMSL!
"A judicial review has been launched by the UK in EU Challenge group, which represents Britons living in France, Italy and Spain." - so it represents people who don't even kin live here! This gets better and better!
deskdiary 21;28, respect, I wish more remainers were like you, a refreshing attitude. Oddly enough as a Leave voter I was equally shocked early the next day!
^Me too.
“…so I'd rather stay with what I know.”

Lots of people would, dd. The unfortunate flaw in that sentiment is that remaining in the EU is just as much a voyage into uncharted waters as leaving will be. Nobody knows how the EU will shape up in the coming years. Nobody knows how much more power it will grab from supplicant member nations or how its plans for a United States of Europe will pan out. One thing is for sure and that is that the EU in ten years’ time – with or without the UK – will not be the EU as we know it now in just the same way as that wretched organisation now is not the same as it was ten years ago (i.e. pre-Lisbon).

If you don’t mind, Jim, I won’t address all of your very well made points again. I think we’ve done most of them many times. I will address just a couple of your comments:

“….the throwaway comment about the EU possibly not existing in a decade springs only from the fantasies of the most hardline Brexiters. The EU is not going to collapse because we are leaving. All the signs are that, if anything, it will become even more united than it was before.”

I’m not suggesting for one minute that the EU will collapse as a result of the UK’s departure (though it may have to be a little less profligate as it will have less of other people’s money to lavish about). The EU has plenty of threats to its existence without that. I have no particular feelings towards the EU one way or the other so long as we are not a member and are not bound by its legislation or institutions. However, if asked to choose I would prefer The Project to be wound up if only for the sake of the Southern European nations who have seen a generation (and counting) consigned to penury and chaos as a result of its ridiculous invasive policies.

I accept that no political decisions are cast in stone that’s why I suggested the UK’s situation might be reviewed in about ten years’ time. It's scarcely the fault of the electorate that the representatives you suggest should be entrusted with our important constitutional decisions are unable to organise a Brexit in a brewery. So I would suggest it is foolish to reverse a decision that the electorate and Parliament (by five to one in the Commons )agreed to before it has even been implemented, let alone trialed.
