Outside my house, I have a hanging basket in the shape of a ball.
About 3 weeks ago we noticed that a Wren had nested in there and had 3 healthy chicks.
There was a bad storm on Friday night and in the morning I found 2 of the chicks on the floor.
I have since disposed of them but i cant understand the reason why they would of jumped or where they pushed out by the mother.
Please help.

Maybe they died of exposure in the storm and the parent, realising they were dead, pushed them out of the nest to avoid infecting the others? Or, could they have been blown out by a sudden stormy gust of wind?

How lovely to have a wren nesting so close to your house but how sad two of the babies have died. Hope the remaining chick survives.
they may have been trying to fly away and couldn't make it as of their age and feather situation
