Now the scratching, biting makes sense. We’re over the moon. You can’t beat Mother Nature.
That's fantastic! Have you named them?

Question Author
Not yet, the parents are called itchy and scratchy. My grandkids named them after their favourite cartoon mcalled the grimsbys or something. I think we’ll name this Merry lot after the 7 dwarves from Snow White.
Happy.
Sleepy.
Doc.
Bashful
Sneezy.
Grumpy.
Dopey

After we see which ones live up to their names.

They’re all nestled on a blanket under our bed.

7 more furry grandkids to add to our growing flock. My wife is really made up and messaging everyone on flickbook with pictures of the cute little critters.
Just as I was thinking, Mamya! By 'eck......we'd make a formidable pair if we were let loose.....!
Dasher & Dancer and Donner & Blitzen ....

I’m going to sleep well tonight hearing them snort and suckle but must remember not to stick my hand under the bed to get my slippers in the morning.
That wouldn't be as bad as sticking your foot in a rotting hedgehog........ :-(

Not good at all, a cousin in American had his dogs face obliterated by giant hedgehog spines after it attacked him. Poor thing was in so much pain.
Question Author
Sorry it was a porcupine which like a giant rat with spikes all over it.
Why on earth are you "over the Moon" to have 9 wild animals running around your home? They do not make good pets.
I really think if you wanted to maintain some semblance of reality in this story you should have picked a smaller litter size. 7 is really exceptional.
Didn't we have some threads from someone a few years ago who told us he kept crocodiles or aardvarks or something equally bizarre
///How do we care for the babies?///

2 options, release into the wild or euthanasia.
FF I remember there often used to be bizarre animal threads, Friday afternoons in particular. I have a vague memory of a long running one about something living in someone's shed and he didn't know what it was. There was also a classic about swans I think.
1) The porcupine did not attack the dog. It was the other way around. The quills are a "defence".
2) You don't want raccoons in the house. I've seen the damage they can do outside.

Why do people try to make pets of wildlife? It usually goes sour in the end.
I don't know what country you are in. Is is actually a raccoon or one of these?
