Dermot O’Dreary Absent Again!

Not only is Dermot O’Dreary a very dreary presenter, he is missing from his Radio 2 Show yet again this morning. I’m glad about that, because I’d rather listen to virtually anyone but him and Jo Whiley. But it shows again how clueless R2 bosses are. They relegate the incredibly popular pensioner Tony Blackburn to the 6-8am slot, and put the much younger O’Dreary on after that....yet he’s off as much as he’s on. What an insult to the legend Tony. Any thoughts?

Did you know that he released a record ( under the name of Kenny Gamble ) that got played at Wigan Casino. He even appeared at Wigan one time, the Northern Soulies were saying to him 'Can I have your autograph please, Kenny'

I Feltz, Rice, Paige, Vine and Whiley are considered 'talent' then Tony needs serious promoting.

I listen to R2 every day but i do switch off/over at 12 noon each weekday (can't bear Vine), i can only put up with so much Norton and his false laugh on Saturdays and i only listen to the O'Dreary show when he isn't presenting. I honestly believe he is of the opinion that we are tuning in just to hear his voice and that the music is secondary. Long may he continue to be on his 'well earned' break.

I doubt Dermot O'Leary is contracted to do every show. He will have negotiated all of these days off to do other work and a certain amount of holiday. The bbc obviously think he's worth it as he's one of the highest paid presenters they have, but it is a prime slot and could be better filled.

I like Tony Blackburn.... seems a very nice person. I usually listen to 'talksport' of a morning. However that sounds terrible by the Beeb, I have no qualms with Dermot... but gawd it must be boring.

I have just turned off the equally inane incompetent self-opininated presenter Lisa Tarbuck. Her father was probably a better golfer than comedian!
