We need a replacement cordless telephone
Is a DECT one any better than a normal digital one
We need a twin pack

DECT is far better. Greater security (with the channels used) and a bigger range.

But when I check the Argos catalogue - they don't mention DECT except on a specific brand - are all the digital ones DECT ?
Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications or DECT are all digital. Your other option is analogue phones. These all have some sort of aerial on top of them.

Definitely go for digital even though they're more expensive. For one thing, you can listen in on analogue cordless phones easily with an inexpensive radio "scanner".
As Ralph says, a DECT phone IS a normal digital phone

Thanks for the advice - We bought a BT digital at �58 from Argos at half price.......
