Well after last nights excitement a bit of relaxing racing. I am posting early as I need to be out handy for a dental appointment and an errand or two to run. Should be back in before the off if all goes to plan. Nothing too ambitious today, but I can hope nevertheless. Sticking with the big boys on the first day.

Calyx @ 5/2 3.05
Bataash @9/4 3.40
Without Parole @11/4 4.20
Dannyday @10/1 5.00

£2.00 Win Acca. 4 X 0.75p Trebles. £5.00 Total Stake. If I get back in time I will consider covering my bets if the first runner bombs. Good luck to all who have a go.

Morning Panky. Try to win back a feather in my cap again. Have had a look at the other meetings but am not overly impressed with the fields after this weeks rich fare. I do note however that Mick Channon has made the long trip up to Ayr with 3 runners. That is like a trip to the moon for him from the south coast. He runs Maksab 2.20, Tricksy Spirit 4.10, and Koeman 4.50. That is a long day and 2 late races. Can't help but think he would not go up there and stay late if he thought there was not a good chance. He is nothing if not a pragmatist. Will keep my eye on developements there, but back to Ascot.

On a Session @12/1 2.30
Moonlight Romance @5/1 3.40
Harry Angel @11/4 4.20
Out Do @25/1 5.00

£1.00 E/W Acca. 6 X 30p Doubles. 4 X 30pE/W Trebles. £7.00 Stake
Possible £9k+
I have then given the 3.05 a swerve and put Pallasator @17/2 5.53
in with the first 4 and done a 50p E/W 5Fold, 5 X 25p E/W 4Folds and 10X 25p E/W Trebles. That bet has a possible £51k+ return for a £8.50 stake. I have gone all in today. Nothing ventured and all that. Good luck to any of you having a punt.
Morning guys, and cheers Panky. Hoping to do just as well today but i do think it's the trickiest day of the meeting to get winners. Relying heavily on my fav trainer/jockey combo with 2 runners and one that won the same race last year. The Tin Man apart, i have taken the slightly lower odds for enhanced places;

3.40; Sabre @ 14/1 (5 places)
4.20; The Tin Man @ 8/1 (Rev f/c with Merchant Navy)
5.00; Growl @ 14/1 (6 places)
5.35; Pallasator @ 9/1 (4 places)

2 win singles, 2 e.w. singles (think you can guess which are which), 20p lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca;

4 placed = £198 - which would be quite nice - 4 winners = £26,079 - which would be quite nicerer :-)

Best of luck you guys.
Togo; do you know for SURE that Channon has actually gone up to Ayr? He does have a loud shout with Major Jumbo in the 5.00 Ascot and he does like donning that top hat and tails. If he's actually gone up there, the 3 you mentioned may well be worth closer inspection.

He has set up quite an operation Ken. I didn't mean to imply that he was there in person, just that it is a lot of effort and cost to send a team up there on the last day at Ascot. The stable will have to be switched on early to get them there, and up late to bed them down. Just made me think is all.
Yeah, that's the sort of thing i look out for too, Togo, but it would be very significant were he to be at Ayr instead of Ascot. Nothing against Scotland, but I think the top hat and tails will win out :-) Talking of t'other side of Hadrian's Wall, McCain sends just one up to Perth on a 928 mile round trip. He has a decent 22% strike rate there and his Impulsive American (named after POTUS, maybe :-/) looks worth a second glance in the 4.25.
Only one bet for me today, Danzeeno,£5ew 5o’clock at Ascot.

Morning Denton. Interesting pick. 5th last year in this race and ran well last time out.
Plus Ken, old Mick Channon always did like to score against the Scots. :))
I remember his 'windmill' goal celebration, well, Togo :-)

Best of luck with Danzeno, Denton.
By the way, strike McCain. It's Pipe whose sent the 4.25 runner up to Perth. My bad - as all the cool dudes say :-)
Question Author
Well this 5.00 race at Ascot is proving to be a conundrum. Besides the 4 choices that we have thrown up, 3 of my brothers go. Ultimate Avenue, Growl,(Ken as well) and Rebecca Rocks.
Even more of a conundrum, Togo. Rebecca Rocks runs in the 4.10 at Ayr. At least i hope it does cos' that's where i've backed it :-)
Thanks,Ken,good luck to you also.

Haha Ken read his txt wrong......he does that, but I should have put Victory Angel for the 5.00 Ascot. He doesn't list his txts he just types out one long word. :))
Well, that last race winner got me out of the poo and, with the e.w. single, ensure a half decent profit at Ascot, today. Not been a brilliant meet for me but i have to say, it's probably my best Royal Meeting for quite a while. Just a pity Mexico couldn't keep a clean sheet - had a fiver on 2-0 @ 13/2 :-( Done the Germans 2-1 @ 8/1, fingers crossed.
Question Author
Yes Ken last gasp punt on Pallasator gives me a guilt free punt tomorrow on England scorecasts. I had a quid on at 9/1 early then put a couple on at 17/2 when all looked grim. Great meeting and I had 2 fair days at least. We do that sort of festival so well in the UK. Took my eye off the ball a bit watching the Rugby and tending the garden, and my son called around to say hello, so that needed a bit of attention. Back to "normal" for a while now then and good to see Denton post. I know that we have plenty who "look in" and would like to think they now know that they can post or ask about the racing without the "other issues" that seem to insist on dominating our lives. See you next weekend Ken unless something comes up that interests us. If I do a little punt on England tomorrow I will most likely put it in Football.
Question Author
My heart did miss a beat mind when he went walkabout after hitting the front. Haha.
Come on you Germans :-) Swings and roundabouts, Togo, swings and roundabouts :-)
Question Author
Haha Ken. Jammy.
