I found antibiotics completely ineffective. Since most acne is caused by androgens, you need an androgen-blocking contraceptive pill to prevent breakouts. See your GP about trialling Dianette but be aware that GPs are wary of prescribing it these days.
Worth mentioning.... Dianette cured me and left not a single trace of acne in under seven days.
Hi, I'm not an expert but have you consulted your G.P? I have heard that the contraceptive pill can cause acne. Re the scarring, checkout a reputable clinic that offers some sort of microdermabrasion treatment. There are kits that you can buy online & in chemists but I wouldn't risk it. Leave it to the experts. Good luck.
I had the same result and NoMercy with Dianette. I am not allowed to take it any more and am now getting break outs again at age 43 :(
microdermabrasion is useless for acne scars - i spent soooooo much money and it did nowt! other treatments like peels are available but are expensive and not without risk either. i took a drug called roaccutane which had really bad side effects but worked in my 20s (it causes birth defects in children - so should be considered carefully). i also use a topical lotion called dalacin t on my stubborn bits and your gp can try stuff with you or refer you on to a dermatologist. in the mean time, try the skin care and keep your oil production to a minimum - don't touch your skin...cleanse, tone etc. no more that three times a day....and be religious with your routine. use the primer even if you go without make up as it does keep you shine free. another tip is to blot your oil with tissues/loo roll through the day without doing the full on routine. good luck...you will get there! x
