I seem to be the only girl in my office still wearing enclosed shoes! A couple of people have asked why I'm not wearing sandlas or flipflops etc well I actually really hate flipflops and anyway I shy away from exposing my bare feet to the world! So I stick with fully enclosed shoes or boots but I suppose in this weather I tend not to wear the boots, does any other girls out there like to stick with the enclosed shoes, back me up there must bbe others!

Being a nurse I have no real choice of what to wear on my feet to work :(

In an ideal world I could wear my trusty Paul Frank slippers which I have had for 3 years lol!
I know this doesn't exactly answer the question posed, but I would like to recommend diprobase for cracked heels. It is really good stuff and you'll notive a difference as soon as you start using it.

I put it on straight out the shower when my skin is still wet/damp. I use the sholl hard skin remover also and that is really good. i have a bit of a phobia about having horrible looking feet, so I'm quite religious about using these products.

You can use diprobase anywhere too. Elbows, shins etc etc...

Good luck with your survey.

Mine are a sort of court shoe with the inside side of the shoe missing (know what I mean? You see them everywhere). On other days, I wear slingbacks.
I go for comfort over elegance these days especially in this heat but have recently bought myself a pair of silver open Birkstock sandals with one strip across the middle of the foot with a buckle which look smart are are comfortable. I couldn't cope with the type of flip flops that just have a thin strap between the big toe as an anchor point.
I think there's a real risk of getting athletes foot and other fungal infections in hot weather if fresh air can't get to your feet, which is another reason why I like to expose my feet as much as possible, even though they aren't the most elegant of sights.
As a pedicure nutter I dont shy away from showing off my huge feet. Flip flops and strappy sandals or mules for me. If I just put my trainers on to walk to the gym or shop I feel hotter without my feet out and semi naked.
Get some Crocs !!
They cover your feet but have holes for ventilation, do not make your feet smell and come in lots of bright colours.
Show your heels tho.
I love mine and wear them in the office all the time, depends on your office I suppose.
Birkenstocks....comfy, lots of nice designs and colours....just perfect for this weather!
kylie-T - I have no choice which shoes I wear to work. I have to wear a uniform which includes footwear. I am stuck with wearing Doctor Marten style shoes with steel toe caps (a bit like the police wear). I have lots of lovely feminine sandals but I have to wear those unsexy, unflattering and quite frankly UGLY shoes to work. It's because I have to wear them...even in seriously hot weather... that I get foot problems!

Aprilis, that's rough, at least I have a choice, what's your job then? So what sort of foot problems do you have?
I have flat feet so I can't wear heels as I get blisters all the time, even with the gel pads. I often wear trainers with liners or if it's really hot then I've got expensive Kays sandals - one pair are a black strappy pear and sooooooooooooo comfy and the other are an umber/orange colour with the velcro at heal and toe they are open but not a lot but there the comfiest things I own
i have a cuple of pairs of the shoes that can be smart or casual, they are similar to slippers, SO comfortable and brilliant in all weather (apart frm rain :P) have a look. hpwever your heals are on show but try some cream and in a cuple of weeks they'll clear up. hope that hepls.
I'm really intrigued by your feet now kylie there's been a lot of discussion of them in recent threads! You seem to be embarrassed by them in all sorts of ways.

By the way a physio recently said that flipflops are the worst shoes you can possibly wear, even worse than spiky pointy stilettoes, and despairs at the sight of youngsters wearing them - apparenty they're doing lasting damage.
Question Author
yes abckdrifter I am very emabarrased by my feet and belieeve me you really don't want to be intrigued by my feet! But I am glad what you said about the horrible flipflops and that they are bad for you. I tend to wear stilletoes so its nice to hear flipflopps are worse!
Oh kylie, your foot problems interest me a lot, I do want to know more, believe me!

The other thing about flipflops is they're called flipflops for a very good reason - they make that annoying flappy sound with each step. God, that winds me up good & proper! FLADAP-FLADAP-FLADAP-FLADAP-FLADAP.... over and over and over.... regardless of what floor material they're walking on. At least stilettoes go quiet on carpet! And add to that the sticky sound as the woman's sweaty sole peels away from the shoe... do we really have to be subjected to this?
Needless to say, I voted "flipflops" in the Most Inappropriate Summer Workwear poll earlier (see above)
It's very hot here in London and apparently getting even hotter.... still sticking with those enclosed shoes kylie?

And come on then let's have a detailed breakdown of those foot problems of yours!
Question Author
wow backdrifter your really persistant! yes I am keeping with the enclosed shoes since you ask and have recently even wore knee high boots! and I've seen lots of other girls doing the same even others in boots too so I know I'm not alone in this!

you REALLY wan to know in detail abiout my foot problems???? well I've already said in another thread that basiacally I have really smelly feet okay!? I'm not sure i want to say much else abut them!!
