I am moving shortly and was wondering if the removal men expect a tip Think years ago my late husband gave them "a drink" as it used to be called.

Thanks Mazie, I am sure they will do a good job The only thing I am concerned about is how much to give
We had a lot to move, so 4 of them. I think he gave them 20 pounds. A lot depends on them doing a good job. If it was me JW, think I would give them 5 pounds each.
£5 each minimum. A good job, then £10 each. A VERY good job, maybe even £20 each.

After all, your move is probably costing hundreds (at least), so what’s another hundred? And think of the happiness that your generosity will spread around.

Thanks everyone I will see how things go but have some cash ready.
I used to give a tip to everyone but just lately I have reined myself in and now only give extra if they go above and beyond, as my family keep reminding me, they do get paid to do the job.
i'm with darcey, i'm shocked at how much they charge... saying that it's probably all going to the directors sitting at a desk, not the people actually doing the hard work
There is a spirit of meaness afoot. I don’t like it.
I gave mine £20 for a "drink" handed to the driver but let them all know..only 3 of them
