Perhaps I'm misunderstanding this but according to Wiki he was born in 1930 which by my reckoning makes him 88.
This is brilliant too

Ray was 70 when that clip was filmed. He died at the age of 73 nearly 14 years ago. But other than that, spot on! :-)
Ray Charles died in 2004
Ray Charles died in 2004, according to Wiki. I'm guessing he was 70 at the time of the concert in Khandro's OP.
Yes, you're right. He is dead .... but if he wasn't he'd be 88. :o)

I like his music.
Was indeed a great artist.
^^87 :-)

I put it on here last night having watched Martin Scorcese's; 'The Blues: Red, White and Blue'. Everyone; Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Van Morrison and many more loved and were indebted to Ray.
I once read his biography, - which I gave away and can't remember its title. He had a hard start in life, born in abject poverty, no father, his mother made him, as much as possible, do everything for himself, because she knew when she was gone he would have to survive without her, alone and blind.
I remember he had a younger brother who died in a tragic accident, drowning while playing in a rain-water barrel, Ray thought it was his fault that he couldn't save him.
Good track, tonyav- thanks. I hadn't heard that one before.
I'm not so keen on the title as I aint no fan though of negative concord (one for Tilly?)
