Just got cheep tesco bacon as they never had my usual,
what is the white mungy stuff that came pouring out of it when I was frying it?

As far as I recall, for decades now, white mungy stuff has come out of bacon. Have to go to near my childhood to recall otherwise.

And fawn mungy stuff comes out of steak. Proteins etc, I think.

and the cheaper the bacon the more they pump in
and the more that comes out

this is why you can do bacon in a microwave ( lots of h20)
Yes, bacon from the supermarkets is mostly wet cured these days.

I usually get dry cured, think I’ll keep to it
I also object to the lack of rind on bacon. Someone seems to nick it to sell separately. Seems available on the Net, but blowed if I can find it in supermarkets any more. But there again I so rarely buy bacon.
