The time has come to say goodbye to my washing machine.

I have been looking at new ones and am inclined to go for a Miele. As strange as it sounds I’m not sure what features I should be looking for, I haven’t had cause to but many washing machines in my time!

What should I be considering?

We have had a BOSCH now heading for 20 years , if not over .
The only thing that we have had to have done is replacing the brushes - which is not an unusual item to have to replace .

Washing machine nowadays are engineered for a predetermined life span - otherwise the manufacturers would have trouble making a profit .
It's no good to manufacturers if you buy one of their machine which is going to last for ages - they need you to return and buy another one after a ' reasonable ' period of time
The German makes used to mean assured quality, but some, if not all, of them now have a lot of their machines built in the Far East, and not to the same build standard.

I would say get one that is big enough for your needs and make sure it has at least one short programme option.
