Drestie's thread below reminded me of something.
In the past 2 weeks I have been stopped in public on 4 separate occurrences by women asking me about my outfits!! Two women asked where my shoes were from, one asked about my skirt & top and one woman even asked about my stockings!! This doesn't happen all the time to me so I'm really quite flattered as, in a way, I feel like a woman that others aspire to be.
Has this ever happened to you?

I'm one of those women that will stop people and ask where they got something.... I think it's a great compliment to pay someone and frankly if you don't ask you don't get.
I've had it happen to me a couple of times but usually in the pub or a club as opposed to in the street. And occasionally at work.

I have been stopped and asked where I got something quite a few times ~ although the strangest one was when a girl stopped me & asked what shade my eyeshadow was, and where she could buy it!
It was only after I had told her and she wandered off that I wondered how on earth she could see my eyeshadow from that distance..maybe I was wearing too much ;o)

Hahaha! That's the kind of thing I'd ask about, Pips. I love unusual coloured nail varnish or eyeshadow so I would definitely enquire if I saw one I liked! I've quite often asked women about their outfits or complimented on how fabulous they look so it's nice to have the compliment returned. The shoe query was actually in a department store. I often get comments about my shoes because I'm Nancy Dell Olio when it comes to my collection. I actually by dresses to match my shoes!
Don't be fooled, Pinky, I buy most of my clothes from the likes of Dorothy Perkins, New Look, TK Maxx and Tesco!! I've even walked out of River Island because I think they're too expensive! But I do love floaty skirts and 50's/60's style dresses, and my shoes are the only things I spend decent money on.

Actually, as I am a tight wad (well ok, cheap) it was a Rimmel collection 'Special Eyes' in 'Forest' shade..which is a dusky, smoky dark green.
Funnily enough I was also asked the same question (whilst wearing a different colour) by the make up consultant on an Elizabeth Arden counter in a department store ~ it was cheap old Rimmel again & I swear blind she looked at me aghast!

lol! The best reaction I got from an outfit was when I bought a black trouser suit from Tesco's and wore just a red lacy bra underneath.I stayed in a hotel and went down in the lift fto the restaurant.When the doors opened there was this guy standing there and his jaw just dropped and he walked into the wall!

I've worn jackets like that before. I love a really nice fitted velvet jacket in black or forest green over a good pair of jeans in the Winter. In once played pool in a pub in that outfit and was baking hot so the guys told me to take my jacket off. I simply said, "No" and carried on melting. It took them ages to work out why!!

I am always being stopped in the street, sometimes it gets to the point of embarrassing, ridiculous and irritating, depending on the demeanour of the person approaching me. My wife doesn�t mind any more as she has accepted that this is part of our life. Sometimes though I do wish I could just walk on by without being noticed.
